Many people treat sand dough with some disdain, as it is quite difficult to prepare. But the more you practice making this dough, the less problems arise afterwards.

It was a variety of cookies, cakes and other products. Later, one of the French cooks mixed up the tasks for the kitchen. He prepared sugar dough instead of the usual dough for meat pies. The chef’s padawan did not notice the difference and ground the meat filling into the shortbread dough.
Surprisingly the result of this mistake came out quite well. This made sugar meat pies a trademark of this French restaurant.
Let’s try to repeat the recipe of sand pie with meat.
Ingredients for meat pie:
- minced meat – 700 g;
- sour cream – 200 g;
- onion – 2 pcs;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- margarine – 200 g;
- mayonnaise – tbsp;
- leavening agent – 2 tsp;
- mustard – tsp;
- flour – 800 g;
- garlic – 3 cloves.
Preparation of sand pie with meat:
Chop the onion as finely as possible, add it to the minced meat along with salt. To the mince also put mayonnaise and mustard, squeeze garlic cloves through the press.
Thoroughly mix all the products added to the mince. Create a homogeneous mass as a stuffing.
Pour baking powder into the flour, mix the loose products. Put into the flour margarine and sour cream. Beat eggs in a separate bowl until the yolks are mixed with the whites, integrate into the flour. Knead the sand dough by hand, form a lump from the result.
Divide the lump into two lumps, keep them in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Then roll out the rolls approximately over the area of the baking tray
. Place one of the layers on the baking tray, scoop out the stuffing with the help of a spatula and transfer it in portions to the prepared layer. Portions of stuffing should be at a small distance from each other, do not touch the edges. The
second layer we cover the meat portions, fix the edges well.
Also seal the gaps between the portions.
The resulting baskets with meat bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 35 minutes.
