Pies can be made in more than just complicated ways. In fact, pies can turn out simple, yet delicious. For example, it is not always necessary to knead the dough for a long time when cooking pies with cabbage.
This is one of the most popular types of pies. Probably, baking with cabbage filling appeared from ancient times. Peasants could not afford to use meat in baked goods. Therefore, they found an alternative in the form of vegetables.
It is worth telling about a simple recipe for cooking cabbage pies.
Ingredients of the filling for cabbage pies:
- White cabbage – 500 g;
- Onion – pcs;
- Carrots – pcs;
- Tomato paste – tbsp;
- Salt – ½ tsp.
Ingredients for the dough:
- Milk – 150 ml;
- Vegetable oil – 30 ml;
- Sour cream – 150 g;
- Eggs – 2 pcs;
- Salt – ½ tsp;
- Flour – 280 g;
- Baking powder – 10 g.
Preparation of cabbage pies:
Shinkuem white cabbage, cut a small diced onion. Grate carrots finely, put them together with onions in a frying pan. Fry onions and carrots, add cabbage
. Stew vegetables until soft, add salt and tomato paste, stir. In a separate bowl, break eggs, pour salt, whisk the components.
Pour vegetable oil and milk into the egg mixture, add sour cream. In the resulting mass put the stewed cabbage, sift flour and leavening agent, knead the dough.
Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan, spread the dough portions with a tablespoon.
On medium heat, fry the patties on both sides until browned.
As a result, you get light lazy patties. Molding the dough does not need anything, just a quick stew of cabbage.
