Crab sticks are a Japanese invention that was especially relevant in the 1970s. At that time, there was a shortage of crab meat, which made this product quite expensive in Asia. The people did not want to give up the usual crab meat because of the difficulty in obtaining it, so it was decided to find an alternative. This is how crab sticks appeared, which externally are similar in color to the claws of the crab. However, there was no crab meat in the sticks. Otherwise, this product is not particularly cheaper than real crab meat. The

people were satisfied with this alternative. Soon crab sticks spread outside of Japan. Now from crab sticks make a lot of salads.

Ingredients for crab stick salad:

  • sweet pepper – ½ pc;
  • chicken shank – pcs;
  • tomato – pcs;
  • carrot – ½ pcs;
  • egg – pcs;
  • cheese – 40 g;
  • ground black pepper – ⅓ tsp;
  • salt – a pinch;
  • crab sticks – 5 pcs;
  • red chili sauce – to taste;
  • mayonnaise – tbsp.

Preparation of crab salad:

Peel from the insides of the sweet pepper and cut into small cubes. Boil chicken shank in salted water, remove skin and bone, cut finely

. Mix peppers and chicken meat in a salad bowl. Remove the inside of the tomato, cut into small cubes. Grate the peeled carrots on a fine grater, together with the tomato send them to the salad.
