Curd cakes exist in many cuisines around the world and have different names. The history of the creation of curd cake may be related to the development of cooking in general and the emergence of new dessert recipes. Perhaps cottage cheese cake was created by accident or as a result of experimentation with ingredients.

Let’s tell you how to prepare a modern cottage cheese dessert

Ingredients for custard:

  • milk – 400 ml;
  • yolks – 3 pcs;
  • sugar – 200 g;
  • starch – 3 tbsp.
  • vanillin – a pinch;
  • salt – a pinch.

Ingredients for the main cream:

  • butter – 220 g;
  • condensed milk – 3 tbsp;
  • coconut shavings – 3 tbsp.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • eggs – 4 pcs;
  • sugar – 500 g;
  • cottage cheese – 180 g;
  • butter – 100 g ;
  • flour – 5 1250 g;
  • leavening agent – 1 tsp;
  • vanillin – a pinch;
  • salt – a pinch.

Preparation of cottage cheese cake:

First prepare the custard – in a saucepan heat the milk. In a separate bowl mix the yolks, sugar, starch, vanillin and salt.

Pour a little milk into the mixture, and then add to the hot milk with a thin stream, stirring constantly. After thickening, transfer the custard base to a bowl and cover with food film in contact.

While the custard base is cooling, prepare the dough – beat the eggs with sugar to a fluffy white mass. Add cottage cheese and melted butter to the mass, mix.

Sift flour into the mass in batches, knead elastic and not sticky dough. Do not forget to add leavening agent, vanillin and salt to the flour.

Divide the dough into 4 equal parts, roll each part into a layer equal to the area of the baking tray. Put the layer on a baking tray lined with parchment and bake at 180 degrees for 7 minutes.

Repeat the procedure with the rest of the layers – we get crusts

For the main cream, beat butter for 2-3 minutes with a mixer, and then gradually introduce the custard base and condensed milk.

Trim the uneven edges of the cakes, smear each with the resulting cream

Leave the cake in the refrigerator for 8 hours and then sprinkle with coconut shavings
