Pies with mincemeat inside began to be cooked quite a long time ago. Stuffing appeared because the usual French cutlets were not liked by the inhabitants of eastern Europe. Therefore, cooks came up with the idea of chopping meat to create cutlets from it. Subsequently, the meat grinder was invented for this purpose. However, experiments with minced meat could not stop only on cutlets.
Cooks began to add minced meat to pies, which seemed delicious to many. Gradually, the recipe for meat pies with stuffing in the form of mincemeat gained momentum.
Now it is difficult to imagine that pies are made with ordinary pieces of meat inside. A standard meat pie consists of stuffing in the form of mincemeat. Let’s prepare homemade meat pies.
Meat patties dough ingredients:
- flour – 380 g;
- salt – tsp;
- sugar – tbsp;
- water – 650 ml;
- leavening agent – tsp;
- vegetable oil – 30 ml;
- onion – 3 pcs;
- minced meat – 300 g.
Preparation of meat patties:
In 320 grams of flour pour salt and granulated sugar. Pour into a deep-bottomed pan with water, bring to a boil. Pour the flour into the boiling water, knead the dough in the pan.
Put the dough in a plate, cool down. Pour the rest of the flour, baking powder and vegetable oil into the dough and
knead the
dough
with your hands for 7-8 minutes.

At this time, dice onions for the filling. Fry the onions in a frying pan with vegetable oil.
Add the minced onions to the onions, salt the stuffing and fry until ready.
While the stuffing is cooling, divide the dough into 20 equal
rolls. Roll each roll into a small flatbread, where we put the stuffing. Seal the filling inside the round pie, flatten it slightly.
Similarly create the rest of the patties. In a frying pan with vegetable oil fry the patties until golden on both sides.
It is important to place the patties seam side down.
After cooking, place the patties on a paper towel to drain off the oil. The meat patties will be browned.
