Meat pies come in many forms. There are quite a lot of recipes for this pastry, each method of preparation is different. The point is that in different regions pies are cooked in their own way.

For example, in the southern countries more like pies made of thin dough, with the maximum amount of stuffing inside. And in northern countries pies are prepared with puffy dough, where the amount of filling is approximately equal to the amount of dough.

At the same time, each method of preparation is different. In different families, even the filling is made differently. Somewhere they like to add more onions, as it gives juiciness to the meat. Some put a lot of spices so that the flavor of the filling was spicy and slightly tart.

Thanks to the difference in preferences, new ways of cooking pies are born. This contributes to the development of a large number of recipes for hostesses around the world.

Let’s prepare delicious pies with meat on thin dough

Ingredients:

  • flour – 300 g;
  • sugar – 1 tbsp;
  • salt – 1 tsp;
  • water – 550 ml;
  • leavening agent – 1 tsp;
  • vegetable oil – 80 ml;
  • onion – 2 pcs;
  • minced meat – 300 g.

Preparation of meat pies:

Mix flour with salt and sugar. Heat water in a frying pan and pour the flour into it, mix.

Form the resulting lumps into a lump, put it in a bowl. Mix the dough with the baking powder, pour 30 ml of vegetable oil into it and knead

the elastic and not sticky dough with your hands. Leave the dough under cellophane for half an hour.

In the meantime, cut onions into quarter rings, fry them in vegetable oil until soft. Add minced meat and spices to the onions to taste, fry lightly and stew under a lid for 10 minutes.

Knead the dough, roll it out into a large rectangular layer. Divide the dough into squares and put stuffing in each square.

Wrap the filling into a dough roll, pinch the edges. Place the patties on a baking tray, smear with a mixture of egg and yolk.

Bake the patties at 180 degrees for 35 minutes.
