Tvorozhnye pirozhki is a traditional dish of Russian cuisine that combines incredible taste, flavor and texture. Such pirozhki are often prepared both for holidays and just for lunch or dinner, because they are suitable for any occasion. Being the main ingredient of the filling, cottage cheese gives the patties a special tenderness and lightness. The
preparation of cottage cheese patties can vary depending on the region and family traditions. The method of dough also varies: some people prefer to use puff pastry, while others prefer to use yeast or unleavened dough.
Curd pies can be fried, baked or steamed, which opens up many cooking options.
Ingredients:
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- cottage cheese – 250 g;
- sugar – 1 tbsp;
- vegetable oil – 2 tbsp;
- leavening agent – 1 tbsp;
- flour – 220 g;
- salt – 1/3 tsp.
Preparation of cottage cheese patties:
Mix eggs with cottage cheese, sugar, vegetable oil and salt in a bowl, bring to a homogeneous mass. Sift in ½ of the flour and the baking powder and knead the dough.
Pour the rest of the flour into the dough and knead into an elastic, soft dough. Leave the dough under a towel and keep warm for 15 minutes. Dust
the table with a little flour, place the dough on it and knead, roll out into a small sausage. Divide the sausage into 16 equal portions, roll them into flat cakes
and fill the flat cakes with filling, e.g. jam. Seal the filling inside the tortillas, place them seam-side down in hot vegetable oil in a
frying
pan.
Fry the patties on both sides until browned
.
Place the patties on a paper towel to drain off excess fat. The patties are tasty cottage cheese patties with filling.
