Many people know about honey cake, as this dessert is quite common on the planet. There are many different kinds of honey cake, with chocolate, cream and even ice cream. For example, the most elite Medovik is prepared in France. In Paris, there is a restaurant that serves Medovik with honey of wild rare bees. The cost of the dessert is quite high.
In our country, Medovik is treated reverently. This cake is a tradition of our cuisine. Let’s tell you how to cook meadovik at home.
Ingredients of the dough for Medovik:
- butter – 80 g;
- honey – 90 g;
- sugar – 150 g;
- eggs – 3 pcs;
- flour – 500 g;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- baking soda – tsp.
Ingredients for the cream:
- sour cream – 500 g;
- condensed milk – 380 g;
- lemon juice.
Cooking Medovik:
In a thick-bottomed saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Add honey to the butter, combine the components, salt.
After mixing the honey with the melted butter, pour sugar into the mixture. At the same time, the fire should be turned off. In the hot mass sugar will melt and cool the ingredients.
Break eggs into the resulting mass, stir.
After the baking

is extinguished in the mixture, you can pour the flour into the mixture and knead the dough. First, knead the dough with a spatula, and then, when it cools, with your hands. The
obtained dough block is divided into 10 parts, roll out the cakes on parchment sprinkled with flour. Using a lid with a diameter of 22 cm make the cakes even.
Prick the cakes many times with a fork and bake each one separately for 5 minutes at 200 degrees in the oven. The trimmings should be baked together with the main cake.
Before using sour cream for the cream, it should be tilted in a gauze cloth. Overnight from the sour cream mass drains excess liquid.
In the sour cream pour first condensed milk, and then lemon juice, whisk until the products are completely combined.
Smear the resulting cream on each crust, lay them on top of each other

Turn the rest of the cakes into fine crumbs, sprinkle it on the top and sides of the cake. Leave Medovik for 12 hours in the refrigerator for soaking.
If you have hard honey at home, you should dissolve it to a liquid state in the microwave beforehand. This makes an excellent classic honey cake.
