Ingredients for braised cabbage:
- cabbage – 600 g;
- onion – ½ pc;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- cumin – ½ tsp;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- bay leaf – pcs;
- tomato paste – tbsp.
Preparation of stewed cabbage:
Cut the onion in half rings, chop not particularly finely cabbage. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, fry onions until golden.
Cut garlic as finely as possible, knead cabbage with your hands until the juice appears. To the fried onions in the frying pan pour cumin and salt, mix the spices, put garlic.
Add to the onions also cabbage, mix the components.
Pour tomato paste into the mass, pour a couple of tablespoons of water.
Lightly fry the cabbage for about 6-7 minutes on low heat. At the end of frying, add a bay leaf to the cabbage.
Braise the cabbage on low heat for 7-10 minutes. Beforehand, pour water in the bottom of the pan so that it covers the bottom with a thin layer.
Do not forget to remove the bay leaf from the dish after cooking cabbage.
