Borscht is one of the most popular soups all over the world. It is available in literally any institution that associates itself with Slavic cuisine.
From Dahl’s dictionary, we learn that borscht is a kind of soup made of sour beets, on a broth of beef or pork. Borscht has many varieties, as it is in demand in different countries. There are Polish borscht, Lithuanian, Belarusian, Romanian, Moldavian.
In 2022, borscht became a masterpiece of the oral and intangible heritage of humanity.
Let’s prepare together a delicious red borscht

Ingredients for borscht:
- potatoes;
- pork;
- onions;
- carrots;
- vegetable oil;
- tomato paste;
- cabbage;
- tomato;
- beets;
- bay leaf;
- salt;
- dill;
- parsley.
Preparation of borscht:
Boil to readiness pork about 1.5-2 hours. Cut the peeled potatoes into cubes. Take the pork out of the broth, put the potatoes in the broth and cook until ready.

In a frying pan in vegetable oil fry onions and carrots. Add tomato paste to the vegetables, mix.

After a couple of minutes, put the fried vegetables in the broth, mix. Rub the cleaned beets on a fine grater and fry in a frying pan with vegetable oil for 2-3 minutes.

Cut small pieces of boiled pork and put into the soup. Chop parsley and dill, add to the borscht along with the bay leaf.
Season the borscht with salt and ground black pepper to taste.
