The preparation of rolls has been known for quite a long time. However, where the recipe for making a sweet dessert in the form of a roll came from remains a mystery. Many confectioners assume that the first to prepare sweet rolls were the inhabitants of the East. Of course, oriental sweets were very different from modern confectionery, but could well be a prototype of cakes.

Ingredients for milk roll:
- water – 100 g;
- milk – 500 g;
- salt – a pinch;
- sugar – 150 g;
- butter – 130 g;
- flour – 130 g;
- eggs – 5 pcs;
- starch – 30 g.
Preparation of milk roll:
In a saucepan pour 100 grams of milk and water, salt, add a pinch of sugar. Put the saucepan on the fire, heat the milk liquid.
80 grams of butter in the milk, melt. Then remove the milk from the fire, pour the flour into the liquid, knead the dough with a spatula

with the dough on the fire, stir for 3 minutes. Place the dough in a deep plate, spread it in a thin layer over the entire surface.
While the dough cools, in a separate bowl beat 3 eggs. Gradually pour the eggs into the dough, kneading a thick sticky mass.
Cover the baking tray with parchment, lay the dough on the surface. Do not create an even layer, make the surface lumpy with a spatula.
Bake the cake for 30 minutes at 200 degrees in the oven.
Beat a couple of eggs with granulated sugar in a saucepan
.
Add starch to the mixture, continue beating with a whisk until homogeneous.
Pour the milk into the saucepan, mix the ingredients.
Put the saucepan on medium heat, bring to thickening, stir with a spatula or a whisk. Add butter to the hot cream, stir until the butter dissolves in the cream.
Turn the crust on a flat surface, remove the parchment

Brush the flat surface of the cake with cream, roll it up and leave it in the refrigerator for an hour.
You get a relief cake filled with milk custard. You can sprinkle the roll with powdered sugar, so the dessert will be more beautiful.
