In the fall, one of the most useful vegetables – pumpkin – ripens. However, not everyone understands how to cook pumpkin dishes properly. Unlike other vegetable dishes, pumpkin dishes turn out to be sweet to the taste. For this reason, pumpkin dishes confuse many unprepared people
. But, this does not mean that pumpkin dishes are bad. This vegetable has a large number of useful properties. For example, pumpkin contains vitamins A, C and E and B vitamins. In addition, pumpkin has a rare vitamin K. This vitamin is necessary for good blood clotting.
Let’s create a simple breakfast dish from pumpkin – fritters.
Ingredients for pumpkin fritters:
- pumpkin – 600 g;
- salt – 1/3 tsp;
- sugar – 1 tbsp;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- flour – 150 g;
- leavening agent – 0.5 tsp.
Preparation of pumpkin fritters:
Peel the pumpkin from the skin and insides, grate on a coarse grater. Pour salt and granulated sugar to the pumpkin mass.
Separate yolks from whites, add yolks to the pumpkin mass. Sift flour and baking powder into the same
bowl
and knead the dough.
In a separate bowl, whip the whites with a mixer to a fluffy white mass. Carefully add the fluffy whites to the pumpkin batter.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, lay out the fritters portion by portion with a tablespoon on the bottom. Fry the fritters on both sides until browned over medium heat.
Place the fritters on a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
