Casserole is one of the easiest types of dishes in the world. The fact is that for the preparation of baked vegetables with meat and other products, you do not need to put a lot of effort. Also, you do not need culinary skills and knowledge to cook a casserole.
Probably for this reason, the dish quickly spread throughout Europe. In the past, housewives prepared casseroles from the products left on the table after dinner. That is, the casserole was considered a dinner.
Let’s prepare a modern casserole from simple components.
Ingredients for potato casserole with meat:
- Chicken fillet – 300 g;
- Potatoes – 400 g;
- Water – 600 ml;
- Salt – 1/2 tsp;
- Black pepper – 1/3 tsp;
- Eggs – 1 pc;
- Flour – 1,5 tbsp;
- Cheese – 100 g.
Preparation of potato casserole with meat:
Peel the potatoes from the peel, pierce the base with a fork.
Cut the potatoes into small slices with a vegetable slicer.
Wash potato slices in water, thoroughly squeeze out excess liquid. Pour salt, black pepper, beat an egg to the potatoes.
Pour flour to the potato slices, mix the components.
Cut chicken fillet into small pieces, beat with a knife.
Mix the meat with the potato mass.
Cut thin strips of cheese. Put ½ of the potato-meat mass in the pan, create an even layer.
On the layer of potato mass put cheese strips, cover with the rest of the potatoes and meat. Cover the casserole with a lid, fry on medium heat for 20 minutes on one side.
Then turn the casserole to the second side, fry without a lid for 5-7 minutes.
You get a small but hearty casserole from simple products. This dish is quite self-sufficient, it can be consumed without additional dishes.
