The influence of the potato on cooking around the world is incredibly huge. In almost every cuisine in Europe, Asia and America, you can find dishes made from this root vegetable.
The most vivid example of the potato influence is French fries and chips.
However, in addition to street fast food, there are more useful potato dishes. The vegetable is often used as a side dish to the main course, as well as crumbled into salads.
A separate trend with the advent of vegetarian culture became cutlets from vegetables. It turned out that potatoes are perfect for this dish. Therefore, we want to familiarize you with potato cutlets.
Ingredients for potato cutlets:
- potatoes – 4 pcs;
- sour cream – 2 tbsp;
- onions – 2 pcs.;
- salt – tsp;
- carrots – pcs;
- garlic – 9 cloves;
- cheese – 100 g;
- flour – 3 tbsp;
- green onion – bundle;
- egg – pcs.
Preparation of potato cutlets:
Cut the peeled potatoes into large slices and boil until ready. Boiled potatoes turn into mashed potatoes, onions cut into half rings.
Onions should be fried in vegetable oil until soft. Chop carrots on a coarse grater, add to the fried onions. Add 7 garlic cloves to the mixture, mix the vegetables in the pan and fry for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the fried
vegetables to the potatoes along with grated cheese

Chop the green onions finely and add to the mixture along with the egg and a spoonful of salt. Sift flour into the mixture and knead the dough.
Wet your hands with water and form cutlets from the mixture.
In a frying pan with vegetable oil on medium heat fry the cutlets on both sides for 5 minutes.
Next, chop cilantro and mince garlic cloves, mix the components with salt and sour cream.
As a result, we get a dish of potato cutlets and sauce to them. To the mixture for cutlets you can optionally add your favorite spices, we recommend ground black pepper.
