For a long time, herring with potatoes and beets has been a traditional proletarian treat. Then the dish was supplemented and decorated as a layered salad. We got the familiar New Year’s Eve feast herring under a fur coat. The
dish uses hearty products: eggs, mayonnaise, fish. Replacing herring with seaweed, and chicken eggs – with avocado, you can get a vegetarian salad “Sea under a fur coat”.

.
Thanks to this recipe, you will stop throwing away the liquid from the preserves.
Ingredients for herring under a fur coat:
- preserves – can;
- potatoes – 650 g
- carrots – 230 g;
- beet – 230 g;
- onion – pcs;
- eggs – 5 pcs;
- mustard – a teaspoon;
- sugar – a teaspoon;
- salt – 1/3 tsp.
Preparation of herring under a fur coat:
Let’s start the preparation with homemade mayonnaise. Open the preserves with herring and pour the oil into a bowl.
In a separate container, break a chicken egg, pour in salt, sugar and add mustard. Beat the components with a blender.
Without stopping the device, pour in the oil from the preserves. When the mass turns white, you will get homemade mayonnaise.
Cut the herring into cubes. Boil 3 chicken eggs and also cut. Onion finely chop. Rub on a coarse grater boiled potatoes, carrots and beets.
It is not necessary to cook the potatoes for 15 minutes and beets for 40 minutes.
On the bottom of the mold lay the potatoes, evenly distributed over the entire surface. Lubricate with homemade mayonnaise. The next layer is put herring with onions.
Then carrots, eggs, mayonnaise, potatoes and beets

Send to the refrigerator overnight to soak the salad.
