Cakes are considered one of the most favorite desserts among a large number of children. This sweet dish is associated with a holiday and celebration. No wonder, since cakes are prepared, as a rule, for a wedding or birthday, anniversary.
However, in the XXI century, people have moved away from the concept of a festive cake. Now it is quite normal to prepare or buy cakes just for small events. For example, on the anniversary of a relationship or after passing an exam.
Let’s tell you how to prepare a delicious cake on your own.
Ingredients for the cake “Carpathian”:
- Water – 200 ml;
- Egg – 5 pcs;
- Flour – 120 g;
- Butter – 80 g;
- Salt – 1/2 tsp;
- Cocoa – 2 tbsp;
Ingredients for the cream:
- Milk – 500 ml;
- Sugar – 150 g;
- Cornstarch – 60 g;
- Butter – 160 g;
- Egg – 2 pcs;
- Vanilla sugar – 8 g.
Preparation of the cake “Karpatka”:
In a thick-bottomed saucepan break eggs and pour granulated sugar, vanilla sugar and starch. Stir the components with a whisk until homogeneous, get rid of lumps.
Pour a thin stream of milk into the egg mixture. Stir constantly over medium heat until the mixture thickens. Transfer the thick cream into a container, cover with food film in contact and let cool.
To prepare the dough, place butter in a thick-bottomed saucepan, pour water, melt over medium heat. Pour the flour into the melted butter and knead the dough
. Turn off the heat beforehand
. Break the eggs into the dough one by one and beat with a mixer until homogeneous

Pour cocoa into the dough, mix. Cover a baking tray with parchment, place ½ of the dough on the surface and spread a square, thin layer on the paper.
Bake the cake in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes. Do the same procedure with the second part of the dough
. In a bowl, beat the butter with a mixer, gradually add the cooled cream base. Divide the cakes each into 4 equal parts.
Grease each cake with cream and assemble the cake from them. Smear the walls of the cake with cream, send it to the refrigerator for a couple of hours for soaking.
You can decorate the sides and top of the cake with nuts. You get a juicy cream cake with thin chocolate crusts.
