The functions of the pie in human life have been constantly changing. It would seem that the main task of this dish is to feed the family. However, it turns out that originally pies were made of unleavened and inedible dough.

In ancient times, the dough was used to carry meat, vegetables and berries. Later, the dough was improved and made edible. Pies became popular in a large number of countries.

Now pies are baked to eat. We have prepared a recipe for a simple pie with an open sweet filling.

Ingredients of pie with jam:

  • butter – 180 g;
  • cornstarch – 2 tbsp;
  • eggs – 2 pcs;
  • jam – 200 g;
  • sugar – 100 g;
  • vanilla sugar – 10 g;
  • flour – 400 g;
  • leavening agent – tsp. with a slide;
  • sour cream – 2 tbsp.

Preparation of pie with jam:

Mix flour with baking powder, chop cold butter into loose products with a grater. Create a crumb of butter and flour.

In a separate bowl, combine eggs with vanilla and classic sugar, beat until homogeneous. Add sour cream to the egg mixture, mix the components.

Pour the egg mixture into the flour, knead a non-sticky and elastic dough. Divide the dough into a couple of parts. Put one part of the dough in the freezer for 20 minutes.

Roll out the second part of the dough on parchment into a rectangular layer equal to the size of the baking tray. The thickness of the dough should be about 5-7 mm. Transfer the parchment layer to the baking tray, smear the surface with jam

. Sprinkle the filling with cornstarch and rub a cold piece of dough over the jam layer.

Bake the pie at 180 degrees for about half an hour.

Instead of jam as a filling, you can use jam or jam. You can adjust the degree of sweetness based on your preferences (add from 200 to 300 grams of sugar).
