Cooking beets, as a rule, has always taken a lot of time. At the same time, after cooking, the whole pot will be soiled, and an unpleasant odor will spread through the kitchen. How to remedy the situation and quickly cook beets?
First, you should not take a huge beet. Then it will have to be cooked longer. It is optimal to cook and bake beets of medium size.
Secondly, beets are washed thoroughly. This is necessary in order to get rid of the top layer.
Third, do not cut off the tail of the beet. Otherwise, all the juice will leak out of the beet and the vegetable will lose its bright color.
How then to cook beets correctly?
- Water in a saucepan beforehand bring to a boil, and then put the beets in the boiling water. In this case, the liquid should completely cover the vegetable;
- On high heat cook beets without a lid;
- In order that the kitchen during cooking is not impregnated with the smell of beets, add a crust of bread to the water;
- After 15 minutes, we put the beets in cold water, preferably with ice. This is how we stop the process of cooking vegetables. We cool the beets in the water for 7 minutes.
If you do not want to cook beets in a pot, then you can bake in a restaurant way. To do this, you need to follow the algorithm:
- We wash thoroughly beets, put them on a sheet of foil, smear with vegetable oil, sprinkle with salt;
- Hermetically wrap the beets in foil and send them to the oven;
- Bake beets at 180 degrees for 1 hour;
- Cool the beets at room temperature or on the balcony.
This method of baking is longer, but it gets rid of washing the pan.
The end result is a deliciously rich beet. It can be used in salads and other dishes.
