Flatbread is the first bread that became available to humans. In fact, the loaf of bread came much later than the flatbread because of the difficulty in baking. Flatbreads were simpler and the right utensils could be found for them. To this

flatbreads are still baked in different countries around the world. It is wrong to think that flatbread remained only in the Eastern countries, Georgia and Armenia. These countries are record holders in baking lavash and khachapuri.
But still, in addition to these familiar flatbreads, there are many others. For example, pancakes are also flatbreads.
Let’s prepare simple flatbreads together.
Ingredients for flatbreads:
- Egg – 1 pc;
- Salt – 1 tsp;
- Sugar – 2 tsp;
- Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp;
- Kefir – 300 ml;
- Flour – 450 g;
- Leavening agent – 1 tbsp;
- Vegetable oil – 150 ml.
Preparation of tortillas:
In a bowl break the egg, salt, pour sugar and mix. Pour kefir into the mixture, add mayonnaise and continue mixing.
Sift flour and baking powder into the mixture, knead a thick dough

Knead the dough with your hands and form into soft and elastic balls. Divide the dough into 6 equal parts, form lumps.
With a rolling pin roll the lumps into tortillas.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the tortillas until golden on both sides on medium heat.
This is a good substitute for store-bought bread.
These flatbreads can be used for meat and vegetables, used with soups.
