Like many other dishes, meatloaves were invented in the Roman Empire about 3,000 years ago. The concept of twisting meat filling into dough happened by accident. This method of preparation became relevant for centuries.
Subsequently, there were not only meat types of rolls, but also sweet ones.
The tendency to prepare rolls has become relevant literally everywhere – in Europe, Asia and the East.
Let us share a way of preparing meatloaf from Central Asia
.
Ingredients for meatloaf:
- minced meat – 300 g;
- onions – pcs;
- carrots – pcs;
- sweet pepper – pcs;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- black pepper – ⅓ tsp;
- red paprika – a pinch;
- dried basil – 1 tbsp;
- cheese – 150 g;
- sour cream – 100 g;
- egg – pcs;
- 30×40 cm pita – 4 pieces.
Preparation of meatloaf:
Cut the onion into large cubes and chop in a blender. Grate carrots on a small grater
and add
them to the mince together with the onion.
Cut peeled sweet pepper into small cubes and add to the mince
.
Sprinkle the mixture with salt, black pepper, red paprika and dried basil, mix the components by hand.
Grate cheese on a coarse grater
. For lubrication create a sauce – mix sour cream and egg, salt and pepper to taste.
Lay the pita on the table, thinly layer the surface with sour cream sauce
.
On a layer of sour cream put cheese, cover with a second layer of pita.
On the second pita put stuffing from minced meat, twist into a roll with meat stuffing inside.
Put the roll on a baking tray greased with vegetable oil.
Similarly prepare the second roll, lay it on the tray to the first. Smear the surface of the rolls with sour cream sauce.
Bake the rolls in the oven at 180 degrees for 30-35 minutes.
You get juicy and tender rolls with cheese and meat. It is recommended to take fresh pita to prevent the rolls from spreading.
