Antoine-Augustin Parmentier was an army pharmacist from France who was a prisoner of war. Of food he could only eat potatoes, which were considered fodder for cattle. The French, however, had a law passed against this tuber in 1748. So the punishment of
a prisoner
of war was considered cruel.
During his imprisonment, the Frenchman discovered that potatoes were delicious. After the war, he was released and told everyone about the marvelous product. He showed them different ways to serve them. One of them is mashed potatoes.

Ingredients:
- mashed potatoes – plate;
- baton – pcs;
- eggs – 4 pcs;
- onion – pcs;
- salt;
- vegetable oil.
Preparation of stuffing:
Cut the onion into small cubes. Combine the onion in a bowl with one bowl of mashed potatoes.
If there was already salt in the mashed potatoes, you do not need to add it again.

Cut the bread into slices of equal thickness. We spread the potato filling on top with a thick layer.

In total, we received 10 blanks. For this amount, break 4 chicken eggs in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt. Beat with a whisk.
Put a frying pan on the stove and pour vegetable oil. Dip the billets in the egg mixture.

Send the products to the frying pan. Cook on both sides until golden color.
