There are legends and poems about pies – mankind loves this type of pastry. For example, it is believed that pies saved people in times of famine. It is true that in times of scarcity or drought, pies were made with a meager amount of ingredients. Basically, American farmers mixed water with flour or bran and baked spoiled potatoes and other leftover vegetables inside.

Apple pie, which was brought to the continent by the Italians, is also popular in the U.S. Apple pie is also popular. The pies were probably made during celebrations and exchanged for valuable items from the local population.

Let’s prepare one of the pies that is now very popular in Italy.

Ingredients for Italian pie:

  • sugar – 12 tbsp;
  • vanilla sugar – 10 g;
  • vegetable oil – 12 tbsp;
  • lemon – ½ pc;
  • milk – 12 tbsp;
  • eggs – 3 pcs;
  • flour – 12 tbsp;
  • salt – a pinch;
  • leavening agent – tsp.

Preparation of Italian pie:

To the eggs in a bowl pour sugar and salt, beat the ingredients to a lush mass with a mixer for about 3 minutes. Pour the vegetable oil and milk into the resulting mass, add vanilla sugar.
