Many people know about pumpkin pie as a traditional American pastry. In the United States, pumpkin pie is prepared on many different occasions and holidays. As a rule, pumpkin pie is baked on Halloween, Thanksgiving, and even Christmas. Pumpkin
pie became very popular a long time ago and still holds a high bar. The only weighty competitor to pumpkin baking is apple baking
. However, it is not only in America that pumpkin pie is made. It is known in several other countries, such as Serbia. Let’s prepare our own sweet pumpkin pie.
Ingredients for pumpkin pie:
- Pumpkin – 300 g;
- Lemon – 1 pc;
- Kefir – 250 ml;
- Sugar – 250 g;
- semolina – 270 g;
- Leavening agent – 10 g;
- Water – 120 ml;
- Vegetable oil – 1 tbsp.
Preparation of pumpkin pie:
Clean from the insides and rind of the pumpkin, rub it on small grater cutters. Pour kefir to the pumpkin mass, pour 100 grams of granulated sugar, semolina and leavening agent
. Grate lemon zest into the dough, mix everything thoroughly

Grease the baking mold with vegetable oil, pour the dough into it.
Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 45 minutes.
At this time make glaze – mix water with sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan. On medium heat melt sugar in water, bring to a boil
. The top of the hot cake pour this syrup and let soak for 1 hour.
It is recommended to soak the cake for at least 1 day.
