The history of Turkish ice cream goes back several centuries. It is believed that ice cream was brought to the Ottoman Empire by Venetian traders in the 16th century.

Over time, ice cream became more accessible to the general public. In Turkey, street vendors appeared selling ice cream on the streets of cities. Today, Turkish ice cream remains a popular treat. Let’s prepare Turkish ice cream on our own.
Ingredients:
- Fat milk – 1 liter;
- Cornstarch – 140 g;
- Condensed milk – 400 g.
Ingredients for nut ice cream:
- Vanillin – 1 g;
- Peanuts – 100 g;
- Raisins – 100 g.
Ingredients for chocolate ice cream:
- Cocoa – 30 g;
- Chocolate – 50 g.
Ingredients for cherry ice cream:
- Frozen cherries – 200 g;
- Sugar – 30 g;
- Banana – 1 pc.
Preparation of Turkish ice cream:
Heat milk to 90 degrees and then pour 100 ml into a separate container. Mix 100 ml of milk with the starch until we get rid of lumps.
Pour the milk back into the bowl and cook. Add condensed milk to the hot milk and stir.
To prepare the toppings, chop the peanuts into fine crumbs and rinse the raisins.
In a saucepan mix cherries with sugar and cook until the juice forms.
Cut banana into small pieces and mix in a blender with cherry jam, chop the components to a puree.
Grate the chocolate with small shredders
. Pour vanilla into ⅓ of the milk mixture, then the nuts and raisins, stir. Spoon the nut ice cream into a mold and place in the freezer for an hour.
Pour cocoa into the second part of the milk mixture and mix thoroughly. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the ice cream and put it in the freezer for an hour.
In the last part of the milk mass pour the mashed cherries and banana, mix and leave in the freezer similarly for an hour.
As a result, we get a sweet and tasty homemade Turkish ice cream.
It can be prepared with other fruits, berries, candied fruits and berries.
