Initially, the Slavic peoples had a tradition of baking bread in the spring in order to placate the pagan gods. When Christianity came to the Slavic peoples, it was almost impossible to get rid of the tradition. For this reason, the baking of spring bread acquired a Christian background. The tradition has survived until now and has acquired a large scale.

Ingredients for kulich:

  • eggs – 2 pcs;
  • vanilla sugar – 8 g;
  • salt – a pinch;
  • sugar – 120 g;
  • sour cream – 50 g;

  • butter – 50 g;
  • flour – 230 g;
  • leavening agent – tsp;
  • raisins – 100 g.

Preparation of kulich:
