In some countries, tomatoes are called “apples of love”. This name of this vegetable did not come about by chance. It has vivid associations that are difficult for a modern person to realize. The
fact is that in the XVIII century, the tomato was a very exotic vegetable. It can be compared with avocado. The novelty in the gastronomic culture of Europe caused associations with a heart and an apple. For this reason, the French called the tomato “the apple of love”.

Ingredients for an appetizer of tomatoes:
- Tomatoes – 7 pcs;
- Dill – a bundle;
- Garlic – 4 cloves;
- Salt – 1 tbsp;
- Sugar – 1 tsp;
- Provan herbs – 1 tsp;
- Korean carrot seasoning – 1 tsp;
- Black pepper – 1/3 tsp;
- Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp;
- Apple cider vinegar – 2 tbsp.
Preparation of tomato appetizer:
Finely chop a bunch of dill, mix the greens in a bowl with salt and sugar. Pass garlic cloves through the press, put them in a bowl with dill. Add to the greens with provan herbs, ground black pepper and seasoning for Korean carrots, mix.
Cut the tomatoes into 4 quarters not all the way through and put the mixture of greens in them.
Transfer the tomatoes into a cellophane bag, pour vinegar and vegetable oil on the cuts.
Seal the bag, send the tomatoes to the refrigerator for 12 hours.
You can cut thin slices of hot peppers and put to the tomatoes in the bag. This will make the tomato appetizer more spicy and tart.
