The title of one of the most mysterious dishes in the world deservedly goes to dumplings. It is still hard to know who was the first people to invent dumplings. Different countries have their own analogs

, for example, in Georgia it is Khinkali, in the Caucasus it is manty. In Europe and Asia, too, there are dishes similar to dumplings

. Italians cook ravioli, and in Japan Gedza. More similarity with dumplings achieved the Chinese, their variation of this dish is called Jiao-zi. Probably, nations took the idea of cooking meat in dough from each other. Subsequently, for each nationality was created a comfortable recipe for dumplings.

Let’s create in our kitchen simple budget dumplings from the 1990s

Ingredients for dumplings dough:

  • flour – 875 g;
  • boiling water – 250 ml;
  • salt – 1 tsp;
  • vegetable oil – 3 tbsp;
  • egg – 2 pcs.

Ingredients for dumplings:

  • minced meat – 370 g;
  • fresh cabbage – kg;
  • sauerkraut – 700 g;
  • onion – 7 pcs;
  • salt – ½ tsp;
  • black pepper – a pinch;
  • vegetable oil – 4 tbsp;
  • water – 150 ml.

Preparation of dumplings:

Shinkle finely fresh cabbage, chop sauerkraut. Cut onions into small cubes. In a frying pan with vegetable oil, fry the onion until light golden color.

Add sauerkraut to the onion, fry the vegetables together. Add a little water to the mixture and stew the cabbage and onions. Add

fresh cabbage to the stewed cabbage, salt, sprinkle with pepper and pour in water. Bring sauerkraut and fresh cabbage to softness and homogeneity on medium heat.

While the cabbage filling is cooling, knead the dough.
