Potato cutlets are not a new dish for the world cuisine. Many people are already familiar with draniki, a classic national dish of Belarusian and Polish cuisine. However, draniki can be very different from potato cutlets
. The main difference lies in the way they are prepared. Cutlets can be made from mashed potatoes left over from the last dinner. Draniki are made from potatoes grated on a coarse grater.
If you do not have minced meat left at home, and you need to feed your family something – use the recipe for potato cutlets.
Ingredients for potato cutlets:
- potatoes – 4 pcs;
- breadcrumbs – 80 g;
- Parmesan cheese – 100 g;
- parsley – bundle;
- eggs – 2 pcs.
Ingredients for the sauce:
- dill – a bunch;
- sour cream – 2 tablespoons;
- mayonnaise – tbsp;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- tomato paste – 1/2 tbsp. l.;
- paprika – tsp;
- soy sauce – tbsp.
Preparation of potato cutlets:
Boil potatoes until tender, peel them and mashed potato them.
Pour breadcrumbs into the mashed potatoes, mix them together. Grate
Parmesan on small grating cutters, pour it into the potato mixture. Shinkle parsley, also add to the mixture.
Break eggs into the mashed potatoes, salt and pepper, mix the components thoroughly.
From the potato mass form small cutlets.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, put the cutlets in it. Fry the cutlets on both sides until golden crust.
At this time prepare the sauce – chop dill, mix with sour cream. Press garlic, put it in the sour cream, add mayonnaise
. Pour tomato paste, paprika and soy sauce into the sauce, mix well. It

Sour cream can be replaced with Greek yogurt if desired.
