Lazy patties with cabbage filling. Kefir dough: ready instantly

Cabbage pies are a popular dish in many countries around the world. Each culture has its own unique recipes that reflect its history, traditions and flavors.

Polish cabbage pies are called “Pirogi”. They can be open or closed, and the filling usually consists of sauerkraut, mushrooms and onions. The pierogies can be sweet or savory, depending on the filling.

German cabbage pies are called “Dumplings”. They are small balls of dough that are boiled in water or steamed. The dumplings can be served with a sauce of braised cabbage or other vegetables.

Let’s prepare classic lazy pies with cabbage filling too

Ingredients:

  • Kefir – 200 ml;
  • Flour – 150 g;
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp;
  • Soda – 1/2 tsp;
  • Sugar – 1/2 tsp;
  • Cabbage – 200 g;
  • Eggs – 2 pcs;
  • Onions – 50 g.

Preparation of cabbage pies:

Chop finely onion, chop cabbage. Boil hard-boiled eggs in advance and also cut into small cubes. In a frying pan in vegetable oil fry onions until transparent.

Add cabbage to onions, salt and stew until cabbage is soft for 10-15 minutes. Add boiled eggs to the cabbage and onions.

Pour salt, sugar and baking soda into kefir and stir. Pour the flour into the kefir and knead a thick dough. Put the cabbage stuffing into the dough, stir.

In a frying pan with vegetable oil put portions of dough with stuffing. Fry the patties on both sides for 3-4 minutes until browned.
