Pies are one of the most desired dishes on the tables. The tradition of baking pies originated in antiquity and still echoes past traditions.
In our culture, a pie is a hearty, meat or vegetable dish. Rarely were pies made from fruits, much less exotic ones. However, in times of traveling, unusual fruits began to be brought from distant countries. Confectioners and cooks began to experiment with flavors. As
a result, a lemon pie appeared.
Ingredients for lemon pie:
- butter – 150 g;
- sugar – 180 g;
- salt – a pinch;
- eggs – 3 pcs;
- lemon juice – 50 g;
- lemon zest;
- milk – 100 g;
- flour – 300 g;
- baking powder – tsp. leavening powder;
- baking soda – 1/4 tsp;
- lemon – ½ pc.
Preparation of lemon cake:
In a bowl combine with the help of a mixer butter, sugar, salt and eggs until homogeneous. Pour lemon juice and milk into the mixture, add lemon zest.
Pour baking powder and baking soda into the flour, mix. Sift the flour into the egg mixture, beat with a whisk to form a dough.
Place parchment in a baking dish, put the dough on it, level the surface. Cut lemon slices into thin quarters
, place the lemon slices on the surface of the dough, sprinkle the top with a teaspoon of sugar.
Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 40-45 minutes.
Such a pie can be made not only lemon, but also orange, lime. It is an excellent dessert for a tea party.
