There is a wide variety of different types of baked goods. One of the simplest types is considered a flatbread. This uncomplicated product of flour product, as a rule, is prepared lean.
In our culture, flatbreads modernized, began to make them more puffy. Basically, kefir or milk is used for cooking. That is, when adding these components, the flatbreads cease to be lean. In
the past, “Sponges” on kefir were popular. These are puffy flatbreads, which are suitable for use separately or with dinner dishes. Let’s prepare “Lips” on kefir on our own.
Ingredients for “Lips” on kefir:
- kefir – 250 ml;
- vegetable oil – tbsp;
- flour – 300 g;
- sugar – tbsp;
- baking soda – ½ tsp;
- salt – ½ tsp.
Preparation of “Sponges” on kefir:
In kefir pour sugar and salt, pour vegetable oil and stir until the grains of sand dissolve. Add baking
soda
to the flour, mix.
Sift the flour into the kefir, knead an elastic and soft dough. Put the dough in a deep bowl, wait for it to increase in size.
Knead the dough again, divide it into 6-7 rolls
.
Roll out the dough into tortillas with a thickness of 5 mm to 1.5 cm and a diameter equal to the frying pan.
Heat 100 ml of vegetable oil in a frying pan
.
Place the tortillas in the oil and fry on both sides until golden.
If you want more puffy “Sponges”, you need to make thicker tortillas. It is recommended to serve “Sponges” on kefir hot.
