A korzhik is a confectionery product that is created from unleavened dough. As a rule, many people know about korzhiks thanks to the Soviet Union. It was in Soviet schools and kindergartens that korzhiks were baked. The dessert is quite healthy, while not disgusting for children.

Let’s try to prepare classic milk crusts at home.
Ingredients for milk cakes:
- milk – 100 ml;
- sugar – 200 g;
- egg – pcs;
- margarine – 100 g;
- vanillin – a pinch;
- salt – a pinch;
- leavening agent – 1.5 tsp;
- flour – 500 g.
Preparation of milk shortcakes:
In a saucepan, mix milk with granulated sugar, dissolve the grains of sand on medium heat.
After dissolving the sugar, pour the
milk
into a deep bowl. Put butter into the hot milk, melt
it. Pour salt and vanillin into the milk mixture, and then gradually pour the flour and baking powder in batches. Knead the soft dough first with a spatula, then with your hands.
Place the slightly sticky dough on a table sprinkled with flour. Roll out the dough into a 5 mm thick layer. Divide the dough into round cakes, using either a glass or a special mold.
Shake off the excess flour from the dough. Cover the baking tray with parchment and place the shortcakes on the surface. Grease the shortcakes with a mixture of egg yolk and a tablespoon of milk.
You can make patterns on the surface with a fork
. Bake the shortcakes at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
You get delicious milk cookies – corzhiki. This is a good way to replace store-bought cookies with healthy homemade ones.
