Moldavian placinda is a national pastry in the form of a flatbread with a filling inside. As a rule, such placinda are prepared in Moldova and in the CIS countries. Slavic peoples often used this type of pastry in addition to the usual pies.
Platzinda are made of different types of dough – unleavened, puff pastry and yeast dough
.
The filling for Moldavian pies can be cheese, minced meat or cottage cheese. Classic placinda is often baked without adding any filling.
How to prepare Moldavian placinda at home?
Ingredients:
- Water – 700 ml;
- Flour – kg;
- Chicken eggs – 1 pc;
- Salt – 2 tsp;
- Vegetable oil – 3 tbsp.
Preparation:
Break the egg into the water, pour salt and stir until the grains of sand dissolve. Pour vegetable oil into the salted water, stir again.
Sift the flour in parts into the water, knead the dough with a spatula and then with your hands. Knead the dough on the table for 5-7 minutes
. It is important that the table is not sprinkled with flour.
Divide the dough into small pieces, form rolls
.
Cover the koloboks with a towel and leave them for 20 minutes.
At this time you can prepare the filling – beat a few eggs in the cottage cheese. Mix the ingredients for the filling, sprinkle with salt to taste.
Roll each kolobok into a layer a few millimeters thick. Put the filling on the tortillas, spread a thin layer, not reaching the edges.
Pull the dough from different edges. Place the thin dough on top of the filling, overlapping the layers. The edges of the square flatbread are also stretched and placed in the center.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan, place the platzinda with the seam down. Fry under a lid until golden on both sides.
Put the placindas on a paper towel to drain the fat.
You can also brush the flatbreads with butter for flavor.
