One of the most colorful dishes of Central Asia is lavash. As a rule, most people know about Armenian lavash. It is a thin flatbread made of unleavened dough
. There are many myths about the origin of lavash. For example, some believe that lavash is an echo of ancient parchment. There is a theory that pita was previously written on. However, this myth does not have any confirmation.
Lavash is an oriental bread like other types of flatbread. At the same time, interesting dishes can be prepared from lavash.
Ingredients for lavash piles:
- thin pita – 4 pcs;
- minced meat – 500 g;
- onion – pcs;
- vegetable oil – 4 tablespoons;
- salt – tsp;
- ground black pepper – 13 tsp;
- paprika – tbsp;
- tomato paste – tbsp;
- dill – a bunch;
- cheese – 150 g;
- egg – pcs.
Preparation of pita bread cubes:
Cut onions into small pieces, fry in a frying pan until brown.
Put minced meat to the onions, fry until the meat mass is ready.
To the minced meat pour salt
, ground
black pepper, paprika
, put
tomato paste
.
While the minced meat is frying on medium heat for a couple of minutes, chop finely dill.
Pour the dill into the minced meat and stir. Cut circles out of pita bread equal to the diameter of the baking mold.

Fold the pita circles in half, cut into semicircles. Cover the baking mold with parchment, grate cheese finely
. Spread stuffing from minced meat on ½ of the semicircle, create a cheese pillow on it.
Roll the pita with stuffing inside into a cone. Place this cone in a baking dish with the sharp end in the middle.
The filling of the cone can be additionally sprinkled with cheese.
Do the same with the rest of the semicircles of pita and stuffing.
As soon as the entire form is filled, smear the cones with beaten egg, sprinkle the surface with the rest of the cheese.
Bake the dish in the oven at 200 degrees for 10 minutes.
As a result, we have kuleki with minced meat and cheese. This is a simple dish that can be prepared constantly for the whole family.
