For many people, vertuta is an unknown dish that comes from Moldavian cuisine. However, it turns out that they are quite ordinary snails made of dough. It represents a roll of unleavened dough. Often they are made with stuffing, so that the pastry is more nourishing.
Some people also confuse vertutas with strudel. It is worth noting that baking has some nuances of preparation, different from strudel.
As fillings for vertuta use both cheese and cottage cheese, as well as berries, fruits and vegetables.

Ingredients of the dough:
- water – 135 ml;
- vegetable oil – 125 ml;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- flour – 430 g;
Ingredients for stuffing:
- apples – 2,500 kg;
- sugar – 4 tbsp.
Preparation:
Mix water and vegetable oil in a bowl, pour salt. Sift 380 grams of flour into the mixture, knead a soft and elastic dough with your hands.
Sprinkle the table with flour, continue to knead a pliable and not sticky dough

Remove the dough in a cellophane bag.
At this time, peel the apples from the peel and seed pods. Cut the apples
into
thin plates, you can do it with a grater.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin into a thin large layer about a millimeter thick. Place apple plates on the dough, sprinkle with sugar.
Roll the apple filling inside the roll, sealing the edges.
Slightly twist the roll dough, roll it into a snail, press the vertuta with your hand to make it flatter.
Place the vertuta in a frying pan, fry on minimum heat for 10 minutes under a lid on one side.
Then turn to the other side and cook for 10 minutes in the same way.
You get a perfect ruddy apple vertuta. It is a good alternative to the usual apple pies.
