Potatoes came to the world’s cuisine from South America. It was there that people were first introduced to the wild potato. 9000 years ago, the process of potato cultivation began.

not just a tasty, useful vegetable. People considered the potato a special deity. It saved settlements from hunger in those times when the harvest was bad.
Now potatoes have become a national dish of many countries.
Let’s try to prepare a hearty potato casserole for dinner.
Ingredients for potato casserole:
- Potatoes – 6 pcs;
- Salt – 3 tsp;
- Onion – 1 pc;
- Stuffed meat – 500 g;
- Bell pepper – 1 pc;
- Tomato paste – 2 tsp;
- Water – 50 ml;
- Dried garlic – 1 tsp;
- Paprika – 1 tsp;
- Oregano – 2 tsp;
- Green onions – bundle;
- Cheese slices – 10 pcs;
- Eggs – 3 pcs;
- Milk – 125 ml;
- Cheese – 150 g.
Preparation of potato casserole:
Peel potatoes and cut into small slices, boil until ready. Cut finely onions, fry in a frying pan in vegetable oil for 3 minutes.
Put minced meat to the onions, fry the meat until slightly browned. Peel the pepper from the insides, cut into small cubes.
Put to the minced pepper, tomato paste, pour water and mix. Add a spoonful of salt and oregano, dry garlic and paprika to the meat mass.
Chop green onions finely, put them to the meat mass, mix the ingredients. Place ½ of the boiled potatoes on the bottom of the baking mold, cover with cheese plates.
On the cheese plates we lay the meat mass, on it we also put cheese plates. Cover the cheese layer with the rest of the potatoes.
In a separate bowl, beat eggs with milk, salt and oregano, pour into the mold with potatoes and meat mass. Shred the cheese on a coarse grater.
Create a cheese cap on the surface of the casserole
. Bake the dish in the oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
As a result, we have a very hearty dinner of potatoes and minced meat. This is a great substitute for the classic mashed potatoes and cutlet.
