The famous pyshkas have been baked since the Soviet Union in every city. This simple pastry was not expensive, but was a great addition to tea at lunchtime.

The relevance of this iconic flour product gradually came to naught. But, it is still possible to find people who nostalgically remember the juicy puffy doughnuts from the U.S.S.R.
In the XXI century, pyshki replaced doughnuts with an abundance of fillings and glaze. If you want to taste simple dumplings, you should make them yourself.
Ingredients for pyshki:
- Warm milk 3,2% – 300 ml;
- Warm water – 50 ml;
- Sugar – 3 tbsp;
- Dry yeast – 6 g;
- Salt – tsp;
- Eggs – 2 pcs;
- Flour – 650 g;
- Butter – 80 g.
Preparation of puffballs:
In a bowl mix water with warm milk. Pour sugar, salt and yeast into the liquid, mix thoroughly
. Break eggs into the mixture, mix the ingredients. Pour the flour and softened butter into the mixture, knead the dough.
Sprinkle the table with flour, knead an elastic and not sticky lump.
Grease the dough with vegetable oil

Also grease a container with vegetable oil, put the dough in it and cover it with food film. Leave the dough in the heat for an hour.
Knead and divide the dough into 18 equal rolls. Cover the rolls with cellophane and leave them for 15 minutes. Make a hole in the middle of each dough roll with your finger and pull it out slightly.
Heat 400-500 ml of vegetable oil in a frying pan. Send the dumplings into the oil, fry until golden on both sides.
It is convenient to take out and turn the dumplings with a sushi stick or wooden skewer.
You can cover the surface of the dumplings with melted chocolate or powdered sugar. The result is an inexpensive and tasty dessert for tea.
