. Do not give up this traditional amazing dish, let’s make pies with cabbage.
Ingredients for cabbage pies:
- Kefir – 250 g;
- Salt – 1 tsp;
- Egg – 1 pc;
- Vegetable oil – 20 ml;
- Flour – 350 g;
- Leavening agent – 1 tsp;
Ingredients for the filling:
- Vegetable oil – 20 ml;
- Onion – 1 pc;
- Cabbage – ½ forkful;
- Salt – a pinch;
- Tomato paste – 1 tbsp.
Preparation of cabbage pies:
In a bowl with kefir, mix salt, egg and vegetable oil. Combine flour and leavening agent, sift into kefir, knead elastic dough.
Leave the dough under cellophane in the heat for 20 minutes.
In the
meantime, dice onion and chop cabbage finely
. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry onion until transparent. Add cabbage to the onions, salt and mix.
Put tomato paste in the stuffing, mix the ingredients again. Stew the cabbage stuffing under a lid until soft.
Divide the dough into two equal parts, roll one of the parts into a rectangular thin layer. Divide the dough visually into 6×6 cm squares. Put a tablespoon of filling in each square.
Roll out the second piece of dough into a thin layer and cover it with the filling. With your fingers, press the top layer where the free edges intersect, without filling.
Cut out round patties with a glass, heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. Place the patties in the oil, fry on medium heat on both sides until golden.
The result is patties with cabbage of thin puffy dough and juicy filling.
You can add paprika and ground black pepper to the filling to taste.
