Many people know about zrazy, it is a delicious meat dish that came to the world from Belarusian, Polish, Lithuanian and Ukrainian cuisine. Basically, classic zrazy is prepared from minced or chopped meat with stuffing in the form of mushrooms and eggs.
Now you can add to zrazy not only traditional fillings, but also different vegetables. For example, zrazy with potatoes are becoming relevant. This is a hearty dish from simple ingredients. Often potatoes are replaced with mushrooms in zrazas. This method of cooking has become popular in Belarus.
Let’s cook potato zrazy together.
Ingredients for potato zrazy:
- Potatoes – 1 kg;
- Egg – 1 pc;
- Flour – 3 tbsp;
- Salt – ⅓ tsp;
Ingredients for stuffing:
- Stuffing meat – 350 g;
- Onion – 1 pcs;
- Carrots – 1 pc;
- Mushrooms – 300 g;
- Vegetable oil – 40 ml;
- Salt – ⅓ tsp;
- Dill – 20 g.
Preparation of potato zrazas:
Boil the potatoes in the jacket, peel and mashed potato them to a mashed state.
Cut finely onion, grate carrots on a coarse grater
. Fry onion in a frying pan in vegetable oil, add carrots to it. Chop mushrooms finely, add to the onions and carrots.
As soon as the liquid evaporates from the mushrooms, put minced meat to the vegetables and mushrooms. Fry the stuffing, salt and pepper.
Chop dill, add to the stuffing and mix.
Break an egg into the mashed potatoes, pour salt, flour and knead the dough.
From the dough form small thick potato cakes, where we put the stuffing

Seal the stuffing in the potato dough and form small cutlets.
In a frying pan in hot vegetable oil fry the zrazy on both sides until browned.
You get ruddy, flavorful potato zrazy. They will replace pies, as they are even easier to prepare.
