Raisin pies are a traditional dish of Russian cuisine. They can be open and closed, with a variety of fillings.
To make a raisin pie, you need to knead the dough, roll it out into a flatbread, place it on a baking tray or in a mold, spread the steamed raisin filling over it and cover it with a second layer of dough. Then it is necessary to make holes for the exit of steam and send the pie to the oven.
For cooking pies with raisins use different types of dough: yeast, puff pastry, sand dough. The filling can serve as one raisin, and a mixture with other ingredients: apples, pears, cottage cheese and nuts. The recipe for pie with raisins can be different depending on preferences and traditions.
But one thing remains unchanged – this is a delicious and hearty dish that can be a great addition to a tea party.
Ingredients:
- egg – 3 pcs;
- sugar – 200 g;
- milk – 200 ml;
- vegetable oil – 80 ml;
- baking soda – 1 tsp;
- flour – 450 g;
- walnuts;
- raisins;
- poppy seeds.
Preparation of the pie with raisins:
Break eggs in a bowl, salt and whisk. Pour milk and vegetable oil into the eggs, stir and pour in baking soda.
Mix the ingredients, and then pour the flour into the egg mixture. Knead a thick dough, part of which we pour into the baking mold.
Spread the dough on the surface, pour on it chopped nuts, steamed raisins.
Fill the filling with raisins and nuts with the second part of the dough, also spread evenly over the surface.
Sprinkle the top of the cake with poppy seeds, bake at 180 degrees for 25 minutes.
You can check the readiness of the pie with a wooden skewer. It should come out of the pie dry.
