The history of pies and baking in general is quite interesting. Throughout human history, bread and pies have always been experimented with. For the nobility, for example, baking was an occasion for entertainment. Wealthy people often tried to discover new flavors and variations of dishes. Sometimes their whims were too dubious to realize.
As an example, in the Middle Ages there were animal pies. In this case, birds and rodents were alive and were inside the dough. In the era of humanity, it was decided to abandon such entertainment.
