Strawberry shortcake is one of the most recognizable baked goods in the world and in modern culture.

In Japan and Korea, entire cults are created around strawberry shortcake, as this berry is highly revered in Asia. But, it is not only this factor that has made strawberry pie popular

. Europeans strongly associate the berry with summer. For this reason, strawberry pie is baked even in winter. The variety of recipes also plays a great role.

Let’s prepare an easy strawberry pie at home on a frying pan

Ingredients for the dough:

  • Flour – 300 g;
  • Sugar – 120 g;
  • Eggs – 3 pcs;
  • Vanilla sugar – 10 g;
  • Sour cream – 250 g;
  • Butter – 100 g;
  • Soda – 1 tsp.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • Strawberries – 350 g;
  • Sugar – 60 g;
  • Cornstarch – 2 tsp.

Preparation of strawberry pie:

Lay out the strawberries for the filling in a thick-bottomed saucepan, pour sugar and cornstarch to it. Mix the strawberries with the loose products, put on medium heat.

Bring the strawberries to a boil, stirring constantly. Then cook the strawberries on low heat

. When enough juice is released, you can remove the strawberries from the fire and let them cool in the refrigerator. For the filling, combine eggs with salt and regular and vanilla sugar.

Add sour cream and melted butter to the eggs, pour baking soda, mix. Sift flour into the mixture, knead a thick homogeneous dough.

Grease the bottom of the pan with vegetable oil, lay out a circle of parchment

Place the filling on top of the pie, cover it completely with the dough.

Bake the pie on low heat with the lid on for 35 minutes.

Then cover the top with parchment and use the lid to turn it upside down. Bake the pie in this way for about 10-15 minutes under the lid.

After cooking, the pie should cool slightly. Sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
