Many people claim that the main thing in pies is the filling. The more meat or chicken, cabbage, potatoes and other components in the baked goods, the better. However, if the dough in the pies is mediocre, for example, unleavened, the baked goods will be spoiled. The
fact is that the dough in the pies plays a special role. It gives additional flavor to the filling itself, allows you to keep it juicy. If you prepare the dough incorrectly, the filling will soon lose its flavor.
Let’s share the recipe for the right potato dough for juicy and tender pies.
Ingredients for potato dough:
- potatoes – 350 g;
- potato broth – 200 ml;
- salt – tsp;
- sugar – tbsp;
- egg – pcs;
- yeast – tbsp;
- flour – 500 g;
- vegetable oil – tbsp.
Ingredients for stuffing:
- minced meat – 300 g;
- onion – pcs;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- boiling water – 50 ml.
Preparation of potato pies with meat:
Peeled potatoes boiled until ready, cut into small pieces and put them in a separate container. Turn the potatoes into mashed potatoes, mix with the broth
. Salt the potato mixture, break an egg into it, stir. Pour the flour and yeast into the potato mixture, knead a soft elastic dough. Coat
the dough with vegetable oil and knead again. Cover the dough with cling film and leave it warm for an hour.
To prepare the filling, grate the onion on a coarse grater and put it into the minced meat. Salt the minced meat, sprinkle with your favorite spices
. Pour boiling water into the minced meat, mix the ingredients with a spatula.
