In addition to ordinary bread, pies and rolls, you can often find flatbread in stores. This is a peculiar kind of pastry that originated in the East.
In Uzbekistan, Armenia and Georgia, flatbread replaces the loaf and rye bread that we are used to. Flatbreads and lavash are used as a kind of garnish for meat, fish and other dishes.
Often in the East flatbreads perform the function of plates.
It is
convenient to put pieces of kebab, vegetables and fruits on this type of pastry.
It is worth making delicious flatbread with herbs and cheese on your own.
Ingredients for flatbread with herbs and cheese:
- kefir – 300 ml;
- egg – pcs;
- salt – 5 g;
- sugar – 5 g;
- flour – 150 g;
- leavening agent – 5 g;
- cheese – 200 g;
- green onion – 25 g;
- parsley – 40 g.
Preparation of tortillas with greens and cheese:
In a bowl with warm kefir break an egg, pour salt and granulated sugar, mix well. Separately combine flour with baking powder, sift into the kefir, knead the dough.
To prepare the filling, grate cheese, chop parsley and green onions

Put the chopped components in a bowl with dough, mix.
In a frying pan, heat a little vegetable oil, lay out on the surface ⅓ of the dough and distribute on the bottom in an even layer. Under a lid on medium heat, cook the flatbread for about 3-5 minutes.
Next, flip the flatbread to the second side, cooking for 3-4 minutes as well. Fry the tortillas from the remaining two pieces of dough in the same way.
For cooking you need to use cheese, which melts well.
