It turns out that only a small number of countries knew about cabbage. It was only in the 6th century that this vegetable reached Europeans.
Cabbage was recognized worldwide only many millennia later. Until then, the vegetable was honored only in ancient Greece and Egypt.
The Greeks believe that cabbage was created by the god Zeus from his sweat. And it happened by accident. The creator of the gods sweated a lot when he was telling a story to the Oracle. Drops of sweat from the body of Zeus fell to the ground, from where the cabbage sprouted.
Not every vegetable can be honored with its own fairy tale story. Cabbage has real significance for the modern world. For example, with cabbage you get delicious and hearty pies.
Ingredients for cabbage pie:
- cabbage – ½ pc;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- potatoes – 3 pcs;
- ground black pepper – ¼ tsp;
- carrots – pcs;
- cheese – 70 g;
- eggs – 4 pcs;
- green onions – bundle.
Preparation of cabbage pie:
Chop carrots on large grated teeth, fry in a frying pan with a small amount of vegetable oil. Finely chop cabbage, send the vegetable to the soft carrots, mix.

The mixture of cabbage and carrots salt and pepper, move it to a plate and let it cool. Pour a little oil into the frying pan, lay out the potatoes.
While the potatoes are frying on medium heat, chop green onions. Don’t forget to turn the potato slices.
Grate cheese, break eggs in a separate bowl, salt and beat with a mixer until frothy. Pour part of the egg mixture into the pan with fried potatoes.
On the egg foam put the chopped onion, and then the warm mass of cabbage and carrots.
Fill the cabbage filling with the rest of the egg mixture.
Sprinkle the pie with cheese, cover with a lid and continue cooking on low heat for 10 minutes.
As a result, without cooking the dough, we get a vegetable pie with cheese.
You do not need to turn on the oven, the dish is ready in half an hour.
