Crab sticks became one of the most sought-after products in Japan in the middle of the last century. At that time, the country was experiencing an acute shortage of crab meat. Then an American entrepreneur decided to help the Japanese and invented crab sticks.

All the flesh was replaced with fish flesh. But, it was acceptable for the Japanese in difficult times to consume even such synthetic crab meat.
As time went on, the sticks spread to other countries outside of Japan. Nowadays, crab sticks are the base of many salads.
Ingredients for crab salad:
- Crab sticks – 200 g;
- Canned corn – 250 g;
- Hard cheese – 50 g;
- Eggs – 4 pcs;
- Sour cream – 2 tablespoons;
- Mayonnaise – 2 tbsp;
- Salt – a pinch.
Preparation of crab salad:
Boil hard-boiled eggs in advance and cool. Cut crab sticks into cross-sections
. Cut boiled eggs into small cubes, put them in a bowl with crab sticks.
Pour canned corn without liquid
into the
same
bowl. Fill
the salad with sour cream and mayonnaise
.
Grate cheese on a fine grater and sprinkle on the salad, salt and mix thoroughly.
You can lightly fry small slices of bread in a frying pan, sprinkle with spices and serve with the salad. This makes a simple and tasty crab salad.
