Soviet Riga” salad is one of the traditional dishes that became a symbol of Soviet cuisine. It was first introduced in the capital’s restaurants in the 1970s and quickly gained popularity due to its bright taste and original combination of ingredients. The
salad is named after the capital of Latvia, Riga, which gives it a special note and cultural context. The
salad is usually served in a deep salad bowl, and for more aesthetic pleasure it can be decorated with greens, slices of boiled eggs or olives.
Ingredients:
- boiled chicken fillet – 200 g;
- mayonnaise – ½ tbsp;
- salt – a pinch;
- pickles – 3 pcs;
- boiled egg – 2 pieces;
- tomatoes – 3 pcs;
- lettuce – 1 piece;
- cheese – 50 g.
Preparation of salad “Soviet Riga”:
Cooked chicken fillet cut into small cubes and lay out an even layer in a salad bowl. Cover the chicken layer with mayonnaise, put the finely chopped cucumber on it as much as possible.
Cut boiled eggs into small cubes and put
them
on the cucumber layer. Smear the egg layer with mayonnaise, put on it finely chopped tomatoes.
