There is a little known “bun phenomenon” in the world. It consists in the fact that people enjoy the smell, look and taste of baked goods. Think about it, why are we so strongly attracted to all the characteristics of buns?
Essentially, we are eating ordinary sweet bread. Instead of baked goods, we can try, for example, meat products, fruits or chocolate. Why exactly do ruddy puffy buns mesmerize mankind?
Probably, the reason lies in psychological aspects. Baking for 80% of the world’s population has clear associations with home, comfort and family – that is, with security and support. This plays a big role on the perception of this flour product.
Buns are a kind of sedative. Let’s prepare this lush and flavorful “antidepressant” at home.
Ingredients for puffy buns:
- milk – 500 ml;
- vinegar 9% – tbsp;
- sugar – 100 g;
- butter – 110 g;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- flour – 900 g;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- leavening agent – tsp;
- yeast – tbsp.
Preparation of puffy buns:
Create opara – in warm milk pour granulated sugar, salt and yeast. After the ingredients have reacted, break eggs into the opara. Sift flour and baking powder into the mixture and knead the dough.
Add soft butter and vinegar to the dough and continue kneading. When all the ingredients are incorporated into the dough, cover it and leave it warm for an hour.

Divide each share into 6 equal lumps. Transfer the lumps of dough to a parchment-lined baking tray.
Cover the buns with clingfilm and leave to proof for 20 minutes. Brush the surface of the buns with a mixture of milk and egg.

Puffy buns can be made with stuffing, for this, roll the buns into tortillas and put the desired filling. In addition, we recommend sprinkling the surface of the buns with poppy seeds or sesame seeds.
