Shashlik is a traditional dish in the Caucasus, Georgia and Armenia. It is these peoples who created the now favorite meat dish for everyone. The secret of a tasty shashlik is quite difficult to reveal. As a rule, real fried meat is cooked only in Central Asia.

Each Georgian or Armenian family has its own cooking secrets, which are passed down from generation to generation. It is a kind of relic that creates a certain impression of the people, traditions and culinary heritage of the nation. You

should not try to find out the recipe or cook it better. You just need to enjoy the kebab. We will tell you how you can cook kebab in the oven with a delicious marinade.

Ingredients for shashlik:

  • Pork neck – 2 kg;
  • Tomatoes in tomato sauce – 200 g;
  • Onions – 4 pcs;
  • Salt – 4 tsp;
  • Ground black pepper – ½ tsp.

Preparation of kebab:

It is necessary to cut the pork neck into large pieces, but slightly smaller than for a classic kebab. Onions are cut in half rings, add a couple of spoons of salt and squeeze in a separate bowl until the formation of juice.

To the onions put the meat, salt, add ground black pepper and tomato sauce, stir. Marinate the meat for at least 4 hours.

Next, you need to make a pillow on the bottom of the baking mold, for example, from potatoes and onions. Put the meat on skewers moistened with water. Be sure to leave gaps between the pieces.

Put the skewers on the sides of the baking mold. Bake the kebab at 200 degrees for about 30 minutes. Then you need to turn the kebab over to the non-cooked side, continue cooking for 10 minutes.
