Draniki is a famous Belarusian dish, which is traditionally made of potatoes. However, it should not be considered that draniki appeared in Belarus in the Middle Ages. The fact is that potatoes were brought to our country by Peter the Great
. Accordingly, draaniki began to be cooked around the XVIII-XIX century. It is also worth considering the time interval when potatoes were mastered by peasants. People did not immediately understand how to properly eat potatoes.

We will tell about the method of cooking Pan’s derune with potatoes and minced meat.
Ingredients for Pan’s derune:
- potatoes – 900 g;
- butter – one tbsp;
- eggs – 2 pcs;
- ketchup – 2 tablespoons;
- onion – pcs.;
- minced meat – 500 g;
- garlic – 2 cloves;
- salt – ½ tsp;
- soy sauce – 2 tbsp.
Preparation of Pan’s derune:
Cut a small diced onion, in vegetable oil fry the onion until transparent. Add minced meat to the onion in the frying pan and mix the ingredients.
Chop onion cloves
and add them
to the minced meat. Pour soy sauce and ketchup into the stuffing, salt and mix well, bring to readiness.
Peel potatoes and shred them on large grater teeth

Remove excess potato juice, break eggs into the resulting mass, pour salt and pepper to taste.
While the butter is melting in the pan, mix the potatoes and eggs well. We divide the potato mixture into two parts, one of the parts is laid out on the pan and leveled on the surface.
We put the stuffing on the potato layer, cover it with the second part of the potato mass, similarly evenly distribute on the top.
On a fire below medium under a lid cook the dish for 20 minutes. Then turn the sod and fry on the other side for 12-15 minutes.
Do not forget to remove condensation from the lid
. This dish is recommended to serve with sour cream and green onions.
It turns out a large dredge with a juicy meat filling, which will feed the whole family.
